The beta version of WhatsApp multi-device support has finally been released. This indicates that soon WhatsApp users will be able to use their WhatsApp account on more than one device. In the upcoming WhatsApp Multi-Device feature, users will be able to run one account on four different devices.
WhatsApp Multi-Device has been released for select users only. Meaning it will be released in full after the first testing. A few months back, both WhatsApp and Facebook announced the release of WhatsApp feature dubbed Multi-Device feature later this year. However, its launch date has not been announced yet.
WhatsApp Multi Device will remain end-to-end encrypted
A few months ago Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company was facing the technical challenge of maintaining end-to-end encryption. WhatsApp head Will Cathcart has now shared on Twitter how the instant messaging platform will ensure users' security and privacy with the multi-device support feature.
Cathcart also confirmed that the WhatsApp multi-device upcoming feature will be end-to-end encrypted, meaning that no one other than the sender and receiver of the message will be able to read/view the chat. "We've developed new technologies that maintain end-to-end encryption while keeping your data in sync.
When will WhatsApp release multi-device support
Cathcart added, “We have been working on this for a long time. As of now WhatsApp is only available on one device at a time. And desktop and web support only worked by mirroring your phone - which meant your phone must be turned on and have an active internet connection. “Our multi-device capability improves the instant experience for desktop/web and portal users. Thus it will be fully available soon.
